Think Before You Speak - I Beg You

Congressman Peter Stark of California (that figures) seems to think that this war we are in is a joke. He seems to think that President George Bush sits back and laughs every time a soldier dies. I don't know how you feel about Geroge. Personally I like him. I think he and Laura would be great neighbors and would be fun to have over (without the secret service of course - something about an uzi in my dinning room...) I don't agree with all of the decisions he has made. Of course I have not been in on the decision making process and therefore don't know why they were made. That said, to think that anyone, outside of radical muslim extreemists, would or even could sit back and laugh at the tragic death of a person doing his duty is ridiculous.

Here are Congressman Stark’s comments made Thursday on the floor of the House of Representatives: “You don't have money to fund the war or children. But you're going to spend it to blow up innocent people if we can get enough kids to grow old enough for you to send to Iraq to get their heads blown off for the President's amusement.”

I realize he was excited and upset about wanting this children's medical insurance bill to pass, but that just does not excuse his words.

If you wish to make your opinion known here is his information.

Great Post! I saw this on the news and another blog. First of all - the children's insurance bill (SCHIP) is due to be renewed but the Dems want to include children of families with pretty decent incomes. But of course, they believe their calling while on this earth is to make all conservatives out to be mean, cold, hard hearted beasts, and especially our dear President whom I admire very much!

I never thought of what it would be like to have George and Laura over, but I bet he would be a hoot and Laura would be helpful, trying to serve, etc. I love their hominess. Glad to hear you think highly of them too. I also don't agree with EVERYTHING he has done, but I admire his character and princicples.

lol Thanks Pam. You're right he would be a hoot and Laura would probably be the kind of neighbor everyone wants. You know the kind who sends a casserole when you're sick or is just quietly on hand when there is an emergency but who also is a good friend and a joy to know. Funny how I don't even know them, but I've formed such an opinion about them from TV and magazine interviews.lol oh well.
